Have you been dreaming?

When you were still schooling, have you ever wondered how great it would be if you grew up faster, started earning money so that you can afford the life that you often envisage you will have? You might have thought that when you grew up, you will no longer be plagued by the mudane and sometimes presurizing school life... I remember way back when I was a teen, a girlfriend had often dreamt of how free and relaxed adulthood would be.

I'm sure by now, we would all have realised that the truth is far from those lofty childhood dreams.

All human go through the same process. The minute they are given life, their parents start to prepare them for the working life ahead by drilling them on their education, in the hope that their acadamic results turn out better than their peers, and have a better chance at succeeding in their career, and ultimately, life.

Have we sometimes been so caught up by the speed of time and the turn of events that we have forgotten the possibility of dreaming??

Ask yourself, what have you always wanted to be/to do since young? Have those dreams been slowly pushed to the back of your mind after the 'turmoils' of work have taken its toil?

I have dreams too. It is those dreams that keep me alive. It is the propelling force that is pushing me to go forward. Without it, I would have been a hollow shell, without a purpose for life. Such dreams about the future is comforting and often healing to me. When I sometimes think about it or start planning for it, it takes me away from the harshness of reality for a while, and leaves sweet aftertaste lingering long after you have moved on. Without dreams, life would be so uneventful and dull, don't you think?

So I say, to all the good people I know, go ahead and savour every moment of life. Dream and dream!
